If You're Reading This

before 9:00 am Monday morning, then I haven't posted any new pics of my scarf, or the (lack of) progress on my Hoodie sweater yet! I have been SWAMPED with everything--work, traveling, Thanksgiving plans, etc. As I'm sure everyone else is this time of year. So since my last post I have been to Boston, where I spotted not one but two LYS's on Newbury St. Since I was in a cab and had no time to visit, however, I can't wait to make another trip up there. Definitely want to check it out since the Back Bay is one of my fave places in town to visit when I'm there.

Trying to get everyone organized to sit down to a SnB has been a challenge of late; so since I am rarely in Astoria (the boy lives in Bklyn) I found an SnB in Park Slope, thank goodness which gives me something to do Sunday afternoons when football is on. What else have I done? I taught Lindsay how to cast on, she's knitting a scarf over the Thanksgiving week while she's in California; Alexa and I have tried to get together to knit, but she was in New Orleans, and I'm leaving for Washington, DC with the boy Tuesday for the week. I can't wait to get away from NYC for a bit. It's ironic--in order for me to stay sane in such a crazy place as NYC it's necessary to get away. When I first came back here from living for about 10 years in CA, I had to go back every 3 months--I was so homesick. I am so much better now, but I still feel the urge to get out!

Well, it's midnight, I don't feel like running outside to get some Duracell AAs for the camera, so I'll stop for now. Pics soon, I promise!

Bath Soak and Chocolate!

Raokg

Thanks for the RAOK, Collette! Thank you so much, everybody for the RAOK. The coolest thing is that crabby folks at work are wondering, what is up with the mysterious packages for Aggie...

It's been a very, very trying past 2 weeks to say the least. The job search blitz has begun, and the great thing about being older and wiser is knowing the value of a good, strategic plan of exit. This job is not worth the ulcer I am creating in my 30s! I can't say how soon I'll be leaving or how long I will stay where I am, but let's just say the wheels are in motion.

Oh yeah, the knitting! I'm currently working on the Hoodie, got about 5 in. of the front done just knitting on the subway. Unfortunately I haven't had much time to just sit and knit. But fueled by the giant Lindt chocolate bar I scarfed in one sitting, I also managed to knit up a black mohair scarf in one night using Jumbo size 50 needles! They're like knitting with turkey basters. I'm getting batteries for my camera; pics to follow...

And on the good karma front, I met Lindsay, a photography student at the School of Visual Arts who is exchanging her awesome photo services for knitting lessons! She's all excited, and can't wait to start. I sent her out on a yarn mission to Knit NY and she's ready to learn...yaaay!
